The Mecanum wheel is one design for a wheel that can move in any direction. It is sometimes called the Ilon wheel after its Swedish inventor, Bengt Ilon. This is a piece of the right Mecanum wheel, and it is supposed to work together with the other three Mecanum wheels (two left and one right). Its rollers are mounted with ball bearings, making it roll more fluently.
