The (5 inches) 127mm omnidirectional wheels are unique as they can roll freely in two directions. The Omnidirectional wheels allow a robot to convert from non-holonomic to holonomic. A non-holonomic robot with standard wheels has only two out of three controllable degrees of freedom—moving forward/backward and rotating. Not moving sideways makes a robot slower and less efficient in reaching its goal.
